Math Sucks.. and Taintless Superman were the hares, Rectal Room Mate was the RA, Field of Streams was the FRB, KISS was the FBI and Field of Streams won the Brainless Award.
Commentary (Expanded Hash Trash)
It was HUMP DAY (trail 5 of 9) on the Tour de Hash 2021, so its all down hill
from here. Gathering at the Press Box on Dale Mabry, a pack of about 35 hashers
were anxious to get on trail before the evening rains came in. Unfortunately,
Rectal Roommate did his best to drag on the opening circle. 😊 Eventually, we
were off and running. Field of Streams (from the St Pete H3) took off like a
shot, and was only a dot on the horizon for most of the trail (more on [see what
I did there, no pun intended, well, maybe a little] that later). Our wonderful
hares, Math Sucks Let’s F*ck and her glorious father, Tainted Superman, set an
excellent hard core shiggy trail. The way they transitioned from the deep
undergrowth of the sidewalk, to the embattled vehicle laden streets was amazing.
The only thing it lacked was a super long straightaway . . . errrr, I mean, yea,
ahhh, great trail. 😊 Ok, all kidding aside, trail was very well marked, and
they even took precautions for rain, by adding a marshmallow to every drop of
flour, just in case. The beer check mid-way through trail was well timed, to
bring the walkers and runners back together for some mid trail socializing (for
what reason, I have no clue). From that point, it was a bee-line back to start,
but not before Field of Streams got all competitive, had to be first, and marked
the final whichyway . . . the WRONG way, where there were absolutely NO marks.
Probably even worse, the half dozen hashers leading the pack at this point (and
going what turned out to be the right way), all carrying chalk I will remind
you, made no effort to mark the correct path. I know, I know, it has been a
topic of conversation recently . . . I am a grumpy old man, so stay the hell off
my lawn, you damn kids. On the bright side, once the circle commenced . . .
Fields did score both the FRB chain . . . AND, the Brainless Award . . . which
means you (Fields) have to come back next week, for Jolly Roger H3 #1530. The
rest of circle was the usual stuff, right up until it started to rain . . . we
all did the best we could to hang on, but not long after . . . we all took off
in different directions for cover. The Press Box was jamb packed, so many went
elsewhere for their post-trail nourishment. Great seeing large packs on the hash
again. Will be difficult traveling abroad next month, and have to start wearing
a mask again.
